As of July 1, 2010, Members must "Opt-In" to the Overdraft Privilege Program in order for FGCCU to cover overdrafts caused by your ATM or Debit Card transactions. If you would like to authorize FGCCU to pay overdrafts on ATM and one time check card transactions, please complete the Courtesy Overdraft Privilege Form and submit it to FGCCU. You will lose the valuable service of FGCCU covering your overdrafts caused by ATM or Debit Card Transactions should you not return the designated form. However, your Checks, Automatic Bill payments, and other debit transactions using your account number will still be honored by our Overdraft Privilege Program as a courtesy. To submit your ODP Form you may mail it to P.O. Box 7256 Fort Gordon, GA 30905, drop it off at either of our locations, fax it to 706.793.1401, or even call in your request to 706.793.0012.

Beginning August 13, 2010, we will no longer pay your overdrafts for ATM and everyday debit card transactions unless you tell us you want overdraft coverage for these transactions.

Today, if you do not have enough money in your account for approval of a debit card purchase or ATM withdrawal, we may still authorize and pay your overdraft. However, if you do not consent to overdraft coverage for your ATM/debit card before August 13, 2010, then your purchase or withdrawal request will be declined.

Our overdraft program does not guarantee we will cover your overdrafts, but if we do, you will be charged our standard fee of $30 for each overdraft. As long as you keep your account in good standing by continuing to make consistent deposits, bringing your account to a positive balance at least every 30 days, remaining current on loans, etc., then we may pay your overdraft item up to $300.

Currently we authorize and pay checks, automatic bill payments, electronic transfers, ATM withdrawals and debit card purchases. But, after August 13, 2010, we will no longer authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases unless you consent.

Courtesy Overdraft Privilege is a non-contractual courtesy and requires no action on your part to enroll for overdraft coverage for checks, automatic bill payments and other debits using your account number. If you would like Courtesy Overdraft Privilege coverage for your debit card, simply ask us to add it to your account. And best of all, it doesn't cost anything unless you use it.

With Courtesy Overdraft Privilege, our intent is to provide you with another resource to help manage your occasional cash shortfall. Transactions included in the Courtesy Overdraft Program automatically include checks, automatic bill payments and other debit transactions using your account number and if you opt-in for coverage for your debit card, it will also include ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases. These items may be honored up to your limit of $300 as long as you maintain your checking account in good standing. If you overdraw your account, we may pay the item and charge your account our standard $30 non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee.
